Peter Hans Docter聽(born October 9, 1968) is an American filmmaker and animator who has served as聽Pixar's chief creative officer聽(CCO) 聽since 2018.聽He has directed the company's animated films聽Monsters, Inc.聽(2001),聽Up聽(2009),聽Inside Out (2015), and聽Soul聽(2020). From his nine聽Academy Award聽nominations, he is a record-three-time recipient of聽Best Animated Feature聽for聽Up,聽Inside Out聽and聽Soul. Docter has also won six聽Annie Awards聽from nine nominations, a聽BAFTA Children's Film Award聽and a聽Hochi Film Award.聽He describes himself as a "geeky kid from Minnesota who likes to draw cartoons".
